The State budget will not be passed until August. This has created a short term need for the state to release the same amount of state aid that was given in FY20 to towns and municipalities. There is reason to expect that state aid will not remain at the level posted for July and August. For Natick, this means that for now, we have received more funding than was projected. Our Board Of Selectmen voted on May 4th that state aid would be down 20% for all of FY21. Now, we see that State Aid is level for July and August. It's important to note, however, that once the state budget is passed, State Leaders have shared that there is reason to think that the aid will eventually be less.
